在英语教学中检测“阅读理解能力”是指检测学生从阅读中获取信息的能力以及对文意理解的速度和准确性。如何在高中课文教学中培养这种阅读能力,一直是高中教师研究探索的问题。我们现行的中学英语教学大纲针对课文教学有明确规定:“课文首先应作为一个整体来教。在整体教学的基础上,再进行分段教学也是必要的。其目的在于掌握各个段落之间的逻辑关系,进而更好地掌握整篇课文。”广大教师遵照这一要求,对整体教学已经进行了大量实践,积累了不少经验,但也存在一些问题。如有的教师往往在整体教学后,把分段教学变成了逐句讲解、翻译的模式,讲解语音、词汇和语法知识点几乎占用了整个课文教学的大部分时间,而没有把整体教学的原则贯彻到分段教学中去。本文着重从培养、提高阅读理解能力的角度,就高中课文教学的整体与分段教法略陈管见。
