It is an unavoidable practical issue for communists, especially party members and leading cadres, to advance and retreat. Progressive means that there is a promotion in the job because of the trust of the party organizations and cadres and masses. The retreat is due to the separation or retirement of posts from the post-mortem needs of the cause of the party. Whether it is advance or retreat, it means change. This change involves both job title and interest as well as responsibility and awareness. How to treat such changes, in particular, tests the party’s leading cadres’ awareness of the party spirit and their brainteasers. In the face of personal advance and retreat, if we can do “into ” who work hard, “back ” who feel happy, is undoubtedly the best state.
