Through the analysis of the architecture and control functions of traditional CNC system, it reveals the contradiction between this closed architecture and the rapid development of the world’s software and hardware technology and diversified user needs. This leads to a numerical control system based on industrial PC and open architecture, and elaborates on the background and development of this kind of numerical control system.
