(三)天厨川厂一九四○年天原渝厂出货之后,吴氏考虑天厨也应该复工。当时笔者在资源委员会昆明化工厂当助理工程师,接到吴氏的信,谓“天厨准备在渝复厂,你若有意,可回重庆”。从这时起,笔者乃踏进吴氏的企业。天厨复厂,首先考虑的是原料供应。除了有天原的盐酸之外,还缺面筋。想办个面粉厂,从小麦开始,做淀粉、面筋。恰巧那时金城银行正在拉拢吴氏,就一口答应由该行出资与天厨合作利用部分天原厂地皮开一个面粉厂,定名为天城面粉厂。向薛明剑所办的机器厂订购全套磨粉设备,日产量为一千包。后来因天城建厂进展缓慢,天厨等待不及,金城又与吴氏闹翻,于是自己办了一个小型日产三百包面粉的面粉工场,解决面筋供
