《道德经》以“以人为本”“顺其自然”作为领导思想的基本出发点,勾画了领导者应具备的人格魅力、领导魄力、玄德品质、平和心态的领导力,展现了“无为而治”“如啬行政”“图难于易”“抱一为式”等实现高效领导行为及效果的有效途径,提出了诚信爱民、和谐共赢是处理人际关系的法则,道出了“柔胜刚”“不居功”“少私欲”“去巧智”“少政令”等领导力提升方法与保持的秘诀。《道德经》蕴含的领导力提升方法思想,通过现代的方式予以解读,对丰富当前的领导科学理论及指导实践,探索中国式领导力提升方法模式具有重要的借鉴价值。
