Recognizing the superiority of bistatic radar in electronic warfare, several European agencies are extremely interested in this radar “stealth” technology and are actively engaged in research. For example, the Royal Institute of Signal and Radar Research is currently working on a bifacial radar research program whose main goal is to intercept target and clutter data and the environmental data needed for signal processing. The agency has created a complete bi-base receiver similar to the one shown in Figure 1. At the same time, great efforts have been made to analyze the data obtained during the field trials of the aircraft. In bistatic systems, passive, hidden receivers significantly reduce their direct attack vulnerability. Bistatic receivers can operate with the target illumination provided by several single-base radars or dedicated activity illuminators. Royal Signal and Radar Research Institute
