9月20日中国科学院在北京科技会堂宣布成立自然科学与社会科学交叉研究中心和评估研究中心,全国人大常委会副委员长蒋正华、中科院院长路甬祥出席成立仪式。中科院、中国社会科学院和有关在京研究单位的专家,以及来自台湾中山大学的教授等100多名来宾参加了成立大会。路甬祥院长在成立会上致辞,他首先追溯了人类社会发展历程中自然科学与社会科学共同发展、相互促进的过程,指出随着人类文明的进步,自然与人类活动是一个综合体系,其本身决定了自然科学与人文科学的交叉,且相互联系会更加紧密,二者的交叉是科学本质决定的。交叉中心虽然建在科学院,但不局限在科学院,可与社科院和大学建立广泛的联系。对于评估研究中心,路甬祥院长希望以求真、唯实的态度来保证评估的公正性和科学性。

He pointed out that with the progress of human civilization, nature and human activities are an integrated system, It itself determines the intersection of natural science and humanities, and the interconnection will be more close, the intersection of the two is determined by the nature of science. Although the cross center was established in the Academy of Sciences, it is not limited to the Academy of Sciences and can establish extensive contacts with the Academy of Social Sciences and universities. For the evaluation of research center, Lu Yongxiang Dean hopes to truth-seeking, realistic attitude to ensure fairness and scientific evaluation.
