The translation is a mirror that understands the original. Whether translation can faithfully reflect the original work depends, to a certain extent, on whether the rhetoric of the original text can be reproduced in the translation. Because English rhetoric has a long history and Chinese rhetoric has a long history, each has a very rich expression, so the translation of rhetorical devices has always been an important issue in translation studies. If the translation can not correctly represent the rhetorical device of the original text, the content, ideology and style of the original text can not be accurately expressed. Even if the translation is of similar or opposite meaning, it will weaken the linguistic appeal of the original text. Therefore, based on the analysis of the translatability of English rhetorical devices, this article only analyzes some of the major figures of speech used in Lu Xun’s works to illustrate that due to the commonalities between different ethnic groups, rhetoric has translatability, Due to the differences between Chinese and Western cultures, there are various obstacles in the translation of rhetoric.
