This article describes a voice-data hybrid transmission device that can be implemented on a 64kb / s digital channel, using voice idle to transmit data instead of using voice and data on its own transmission equipment or increasing the data transfer rate. The line is used to transmit data when voice pauses are detected, and the line blocks the transmission of data during the arrival of a burst of voice. Two models of hybrid transmission system are given. The arrival of the first model data is random and sudden, used to describe a human-computer interaction process. The second model data is continuous arrival, used to describe the file transfer, fax and so on. This article calculates the buffer capacity, blocking probability, data latency, and other factors required for both models.
