通过对瓜棉复合种植与单作瓜、单作棉的个体和群体生长动态及光合特性比较分析,结果表明:采取合理的栽培管理方式,瓜棉复合种植可建立良好的作物群体结构,对瓜的正常生长发育影响不大,可以获得与单作瓜相近的瓜产量;复合种植模式的棉花植株生长优于单作棉花,棉花增产。在各生长阶段,复合种植模式的田间叶面积指数、光合势和群体生长率均优于单作瓜和单作棉。瓜棉复合种植可以有效地改善田间小气候,降低温度,增加相对湿度,提高净光合速率。从而有效提高了光能利用率,全年的综合产量增加。
