Design and make a thin film transistor switch array. This array is suitable for a variety of flat panel display materials matrix addressing components. The switch matrix is formed on a separate substrate from the display material by connecting each switch to a corresponding resolver on the display by a metal bump or other suitable contact. The matrix is a 32 × 32 cell array, made 20 lines / hour over a 1.6-inch to 2-inch effective area. Using a 5 × 7 dot matrix of characters, a component produces 4 lines of 5 characters per line. The application of the array on the EL thin film display is introduced.
