An empirical study of 32 self-correcting oral English students in non-English majors in China shows that learners are more sensitive to the accuracy of language forms and that they will unconsciously allocate more monitoring power in this respect. When learners monitor the language When mistakes, it will naturally self-correction. Overall, the low-level group performed more self-correction than the high-level group, but in the category of the body-correction, the high-level group self-corrected more frequently than the low-level group. As learners improve their L2 proficiency, they tend to pay more attention to the appropriateness of language expression.
