Students who have been to the countryside, the seaside, or the mountains in the summer must have felt this way: the city is really hot. The general explanation of “what is the reason why cities are hotter than rural areas” is only taking into account the “heat island effect” of cities. Due to the modernization of the city, a large number of high-rise buildings, cement roads and other urban underlays, the heat capacity is very low. When the sun shines, the temperature quickly rises, so that the surrounding temperature also increases, the urban temperature is naturally higher than the suburbs This is the “heat island effect.” The more advanced cities are, the stronger their “heat island effect” is.
