11月17日的外交学院小礼堂人群涌动,众多热情的学生等待着一位特殊的客人——中国奥林匹克运动事业之父何振梁。这次他为同学们带来的主题报告是“中国与国际奥林匹克运动”。主席台上何振粱白发苍苍却又精神奕奕。他面对座无虚席的会场,回忆着中国奥林匹克事业的历程,娓娓道来自己半个多世纪以来工作中所遇到的酸甜苦辣。回忆往事,何振梁最感幸福和骄傲的事情就是两次参加北京申办奥运会。1993年第一次申奥,与成功擦肩而过。当他们回国参加在机场举行的欢迎仪式时,群众中打出了标语:“永远的北京,不远的奥运”。谈到这里,何先生感慨道:“我觉得这个标语非常深刻。确实,北京是永恒的,我们的国家永远在前进,相信奥运会不会太远。这就反映了我们胜不骄.败不馁的精神。”为了申奥工作,何振梁奔波于世界各地为中国游说,他笑言:
