过去二十五年中,社会科学方法论实际上已经有所突破。毫无疑问,大多数人都会同意经济学者运用的方法论比其他一些社会科学学科的方法论更加先进——在方法论的革新方面,心理学也许是占第二位。方法论显得最后进的两门学科要数人类学和史学了。社会学与政治学则介于两者之间。
In the past twenty-five years, the methodology of social science has actually made a breakthrough. There is no doubt that most people agree that the methodology applied by economists is more advanced than the methodologies of other social science disciplines - psychology may be second in the area of methodological innovation. The last two disciplines of methodology seem to be anthropology and history. Sociology and politics are somewhere in between.
