随着商品经济的发展,经济领域的犯罪现象越来越普遍。“白领犯罪”一词不断出现在我国法学教科书和有关论文中。那么,什么是“白领犯罪”呢?美国犯罪学家,“白领犯罪”一词的首创者萨瑟兰教授所著的《白领犯罪》一书对此作了详细的论述。 中国台湾刑法学家林山田认为:“萨瑟兰教授的白领犯罪这一定义具有犯罪学和刑事政策上的重大意义。”英国犯罪学家曼海姆认为:“假如有为犯罪学而设的诺贝尔奖的话,萨即可以以其白领犯罪理论而获诺贝尔奖。现将《白领犯罪》一书第一章“白领犯罪问题”译出，以供参考。——译者
