铯是自然界中化学性质活泼的一种碱金属元素.在研制脉冲铯灯过程中.铯量的精确控制和充入是一项关键工艺.若采用象制作光电阴极那样的碱金属蒸发工艺是难以实现的,采用一种特殊方法,将制得的纯铯在真空系统中封装在一金属毛细管中,每次使用时,只要称得或计算所需的重量,Cs、Hg 分别充入灯中.这样使实验变得非常方便、灵活.可随时改变 Cs、Hg 的比例。用此法研制成功了我国第(?)支脉冲铯灯.图1介绍了还原与封装铯的真空系统原理,最后给出了铯量的计算方法.
