The Gaozhai cemetery lies at Dongzhuang Village of Gaozhai Township in Huzhu County,Qinghai Province,In 1990,the Qinghai Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology excavated there two tombs,i.e.M1 and M2 .Either of them is brick-built and consists of a tomb-passage,a gate-wall,a tomb-gate,a corridor,and one or two chambers.M1 is a single-chambered domed tomb;and M2 has two chambers and a dome.Above the bomb-gate is a gate wall in imitation of that of surface building,with brick carvings representing human figures and structural members,The funeral objects number more than 100,which can be divided into pottery,bronzes,wood-ware,brick-caved articles,copper coins,etc.In form and function there are the jar,pot,bowl,basin,zeng stemaer,lamp,urn,eared cup ,zun vase,dou wine vessel,mirror,water dropoer,horse-and-chariot fitting ,and models of granary,kitchen range and well,Judging from the tomb structure as well as the shape and combination of the unearthed gravge goods,the two tombs can be dated to the Wei-Jin period.
