Under simulated conditions, the contents of nickel, vanadium and chromium in potatoes, carrots and fodder beet were studied by increasing the application rates of inorganic fertilizers by medium-maturing grass-soil ash. It was ascertained that the application of a large dose of nitrogen fertilizer could significantly increase the concentration of heavy metals in plants without any increase in the contents of nickel, vanadium and chromium when nitrogen and phosphorus and potassium were mixed.
