段斯立墓葬于2009年在西安市南郊凤栖原韩家湾村西南处发掘。墓葬坐南朝北,形制为长斜坡阶梯式墓道土洞墓,因被盗严重,随葬品所剩无几。甬道内出土墓志一合,详细记载志主家族世系、生平历官、兄弟子嗣、卒葬地点,为深入研究段文昌家族提供了宝贵材料,具有证史、勘史、补史等重要意义。墓志载,段斯立字允元,为唐初重臣段志玄五代孙,唐穆宗宰相段文昌长子,武宗会昌二年正月卒于长安修行里第,春秋四十七。段斯立弟即《酉阳杂俎》作者段成式,唐代著名志怪小说家,与李商隐、温庭筠齐名,著书甚多。段斯立墓志撰文者李讷,为穆宗朝刑部尚书李逊之侄。书写者杨鲁士乃长安静恭坊杨汝士之弟,为当时名门望族。段斯立卒后于同年四月祔葬于京兆府万年县高平乡先茔之次,这为寻找其家族墓地提供了宝贵线索,也为唐代万年县乡里范围考证提供了新材料。
