Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular complications, the latter being mainly at increased risk for MI and CVD. However, its relationship with the risk of stroke and atrial fibrillation (atrial fibrillation) is still controversial or rarely reported. Now on a large sample survey analysis. Subjects were 182 335 individuals, all at baseline> 15 years of age. And included in the study in 1997, no RA, stroke, atrial fibrillation and other clinical evaluation. The average follow-up of approximately 4.8 years in the study resulted in a total of 18 247 RA patients with a mean age at onset of RA of 59.2 years. And the RA have been established by the relevant international diagnostic criteria or are taking the relevant anti-RA drug therapy to be established. Finally, we observed and compared the risk of stroke and AF with newly diagnosed RA and those without RA.
