随着科学技术的发展,科技文献资料急剧增加,同时由于现代科学技术学科相互渗透,科技文献资料学科分散相互交叉等,给科研人员查找资料带来了越来越大的困难。据报导,一般情况下,科研人员进行科研活动要化费三分之一以上的时间去查阅资料。因此用计算机进行文献资料的检索,已经势在必行。目前,在国外计算机检索已达到了比较普遍的实用阶段。现在我国计算机检索事业已从研究阶段进入初步应用阶段,国内已经有不少单位利用国外引进的文献磁带开展定题检索
