In the study of acupuncture anesthesia, many people abroad tend to explain the mechanism of acupuncture analgesia by using the “gate control theory” proposed by Melzack and Wall two in 1965. In China, this doctrine also aroused widespread attention. So what is the doctrine of this doctrine? What factual basis does it have? What are the deficiencies? What developments and changes have been made in the ten years since this doctrine was put forward? The systematic review is of some help to our understanding of this doctrine from both positive and negative aspects. In the light of Chairman Mao’s teachings on what is foreign to China, “there is an analysis and a critical study of geography.” This article is specially translated for reference. In order to read conveniently, the order of some paragraphs changes. Due to the limited level, errors and defects in the translation are unavoidable.
