Virginia Woolf (1882-1941) is a recognized pioneer of modernism in the 20th century. Her bold innovation in the field of novel art has brought a breeze to the literature of the 20th century. In the traditional literary atmosphere, she has heard her delicate and profound voice and felt her unique and meaningful spiritual world. As an early stream of consciousness works, Lady Dalloway’s novel artistic concept has always been the focus of critics and readers. This article uses the theory of “defamiliarization ” of representative of Russian formalism, Shklovsky, to analyze how the novel is carried out in three aspects: the structure of writing, the perspective of narration and the use of language
