GOR is the product of a cDNA clone isolated from a chimpanzee experimentally infect-ed with serum from a patient with non-A non-B hepatitis.Our results showed that anti-GOR was de-tected in 13(9.42%)of 138 sera from patients with primary hepatic carcinoma(PHC).Furthermoreanti-GOR was detected in 6(6.32%)of 95 PHC patients with HBsAg positive,0(0%)of 3 PHC pa-tients with anti-HCV positive,7(87.5%)of 8 PHC patients with both HBsAg and acti-HCV positive,0(0%)of 32 PHC patients with both HBsAg and anti-HCV negative.We also found that 4(14.9%)of 28 patients with other tumour,2(4.55%)of 44 patients with chronic hepatitis B,11(40.74%)of 27 patients with chronic hepatitis C were anti-GOR positive.It is suggested that overlapping of HBVinfection and/or disorder of immune system may help and accelerate the appearance of anti-GOR in-duced by HCV infection in patients with PHC.Anti-GOR was also detected in sera of patients with an-ti-HCV negative,especially of kidney cancers.Further investigation,however,is imperative.
