八十年代后，中国出版史进入了高潮兴盛期，表现在八个方面：一是研完成果层出不穷，综合著述成批问世。著名的有魏隐儒《中国古籍印刷史》，李致忠《中国古代书籍史》，郑如斯、肖东发《中国书史》，来新夏《中国古代图书事业史》，宋原放、李白坚《中国出版史》等。二是研究范围不断开拓，诸多空白得到填补。三是研究方法多有创新，内容体例各有所长。四是研究成果形式多样，众多刊物提供阵地。五是研究层次不断加深，纠正不少谬误成说。六是研究目的日益明确，注意总结探讨规律。七是研究队伍不断扩大，规划选题逐步落实。八是境外学者积极参与，众多论著推波助澜。
Since the 1980s, the publishing history of China has entered a climax in its boom period, which manifests itself in eight aspects. First, there are an endless stream of research achievements and batch publications. The famous Wei Yinru “Chinese ancient history of printing”, Li Zhizhong “History of ancient books in China”, Zheng, Xiao Dongfa “Chinese book history” to the new summer, “the history of ancient Chinese books,” Song Yuan Fang, Li Baijian “China Publishing History ”and so on. Second, the research area has been constantly open up, many gaps have been filled. Third, there are many innovative research methods, content and methods have their own strengths. Fourth, various forms of research results, a large number of publications to provide positions. Fifth, deepening the research hierarchy and correcting many fallacies. Sixth, the research purpose is increasingly clear, pay attention to summarize the law. Seventh, the research team is constantly expanding and the planning topics are gradually implemented. Eight is the active participation of foreign scholars, many works fueled.
