Kidney is an important organ responsible for sodium excretion. Dopamine plays an important role in the development and progression of essential hypertension because of its strong inhibition of renal sodium reabsorption. All five subtypes of dopamine receptors are involved in the regulation of renal sodium channels or blood pressure, either directly or indirectly through interaction with other blood pressure regulating systems. Now on the dopamine receptors in the regulation of blood pressure and kidney sodium, diuretic play an important role in the review.
