社论,作为表明报刊政治面目的旗帜,有一定的权威性。这是客观的事实,也是人们的共识。但是,如果以为既然有着权威性,读者自然会重视它,会自觉去读它,不必再费心思去增强可读性,那就错了。实际情况恰好相反,正因为它有着权威性,人们对它的期望值和要求也就特别高,倘若写得不好,引不起注意和兴趣,那么,人们的反感和失望也就会更大。事实上,目前各报的社论确实存在一些不尽人意的方面,以致削弱了它自身的权威性。诸如社论数量偏少,有的省报有时一个月连一篇也不照面,人们想读却读不到;而有的见报社论可读性又
