Don Basham’s “Snow White” reflects the mental state of American society in the 1960s, especially the situation of women represented by Snow White. Snow not only has a certain female consciousness: she possesses a new concept of sex, her own physical examination also breaks the tradition, and she boldly makes her own body endorsement. She is still a person who has fun, pursuit and thinking. Out of her desire for freedom and his dissatisfaction with the status quo, she was looking forward to the Prince’s arrival and to save her from her life which was uninteresting and found that it was only a hypocrisy. Because the then American men were unable to save themselves, let alone save Snow White. This shows that there is still a long way to go if women are to achieve the status quo of “autonomous existence.”
