Objective To investigate the effects of age and height of Chinese children aged 7 to 12 years and their effects on blood pressure and to provide a scientific basis for the evaluation of blood pressure and related standards in children and adolescents. Methods The data of Chinese students aged 7 ~ 12 years from 1985 to 2005 were used to survey the data of Chinese students from 7 to 12 years old. The same number of same-age, same-sex and same-height students were randomly selected from each province. Height and age were analyzed after controlling age and height Effects of blood pressure on children and adolescents. Results The systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure of men and women increased with age when the height and age were not controlled. The systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure of men and women aged 7 to 12 were increased with the increase of height after controlling age ( P <0.05). After controlling for height, there was no significant difference in blood pressure between men and women in all age groups (P> 0.05). Conclusion The blood pressure level of children aged 7 ~ 12 increases with height growth and is less affected by age.
