The quality of management of the British and French enterprises generally lower than the virtues of enterprises, one of the important reasons is that most of the Anglo-French family business by the eldest son in the management. One study found that if the family business is managed by outsiders, the business seems to be better managed than the other business, while the business run by the first eldest son tends to be poorly managed. Family businesses in France and the United Kingdom are mostly run by their eldest son, which is an important reason for the lower quality (or performance) of French and British businesses than the U.S. and German businesses. McKinsey studied the French, German, British and American 700 medium-sized manufacturing enterprises reached the conclusion. The study was completed by researchers from McKinsey & Company and London School of Economics. We examined the relationship between the quality of some key management practices and performance indicators that include total factor productivity, market share, sales growth, and market value.
