《二百年忌辰》是作者成功运用魔幻现实主义手法创作的一部实验性作品。在这部将生与死、时与空、现实与虚幻或倒错或混淆的小说里,作者用幽默的口吻向我们讲述了一个发生在现代社会里的荒诞故事:“我”是一个离开故乡来到东京已十年的独身女子,突然接到老家的一份通知,要“我”回去参加二百年忌辰。听说在这种百年一遇的盛会上,死去的亲友会还阳来到身边,那时,生者和死者间没有任何界限和阻隔。于是“我”坐上了前往家乡的火车,还没到达三重县的地界,“我”的周围便开始接二连三地发生了不可思议的怪事。在二百年忌辰的举办场所,聚集着混杂在一起的生者和死者共百余人。在那个盛况空前的法事中,“我”邂逅了早已去世的祖母和其他一些亲友……显而易见,这位出身于伊势的女作家在该作品里极尽辛辣嘲讽之能事,意在借这场法事(借血缘关系维系的家族制的象征)向沿袭千年的封建传统文化发起挑战,进而尝试着对形成“神”、“国家”、“天皇制”和“家族制”的这种封建传统文化进行剖析和反思。在日本这个高度发达的资本主义社会里,这种剖析和反思尽管来得晚了点儿,尽管这种呼声现在还比较弱小,但它毕竟来了。本小辑介绍的《二百年忌辰》译自新潮社1994年5月版。
“Two hundred Annihilation” is an experimental work created by the author successfully using magical realism.
