Observation by light microscope (LM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) showed that the shape of the equatorial plane of Rhizophora apiculata was globular - nearly spherical, and its polar view was a circle triangle. Holes, with continuous ring equatorial internal pores, the typical ornamentation of pollen is a fine reticulate-wrinkled (microreticulate-rugulate). The authors reported for the first time the polymorphism of pollen in mangroves. There were significant variations in pollen exine ornamentation and germination pores. SEM observations showed that the variation of pollen exine ornamentation was mainly perforate, rugulate and foveolate ) And other types, LM observed found four germination pore pollen variation type. Observations and descriptions of pollen morphology provide an indispensable basis for the identification of fossil pollen. Studying the morphology and polymorphism of pollen in mangroves helps to understand the evolution of pollen exine in mangroves. Pollen Polymorphism shows that the characteristics of a single pollen morphology does not completely represent the characteristics of the species. Pollen classification should also give full consideration to the discontinuity and continuity of pollen traits, in order to correctly understand the variation and variation patterns of pollen traits in the population, so as to achieve objective understanding and correctly classify plant species. The polymorphism of pollen added new reference information for the identification of fossil pollen species. The authors also discussed the possible value and significance of pollen polymorphism in plant system evolution and paleoecology.
