去年九月,英国剑桥大学应用数学及理论物理系辛普生博士应我国水利部水电科学研究院的邀请,前来我国讲学访问。辛普生博士来华前要求一观举世驰名的钱江潮,在杭期间,在学术交流会上,浙江省河口海岸研究所总工程师戴泽蘅介绍了闻名中外的钱塘江涌潮,历史上沿江人民修堤筑坝,尤其是解放以来沿江围涂的成就,并提出了在河口建筑拦河大坝的设想;李光炳工程师介绍了浙江省河口海岸研究所的科研工作概况,特别是钱塘江河口潮汐、波浪、泥沙、含盐度和模型试验等工作的概貌;国家海洋局第二海洋研究所苏纪兰教授介绍了长江口的密度流情况。辛普生博士介绍了异重流的最新进展,阐明了自然界大气、海洋、河口、水库中的异重流现象及其特征;实验室中异重流的模拟方法及其研究成果;并介绍了英国塞文、特伦特、默西、肯特和帕富特五条潮汐河口和法国塞纳河口的潮汐能源及其开发利用和规划情况。
In September last year, Dr. Simpson, from the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics of the University of Cambridge in England, came to our country to give lectures at the invitation of the Hydropower Research Institute of the Ministry of Water Resources of China. Dr. Simpson called for a world-renowned Qianjiang tide before he came to China. During the academic exchange conference in Hangzhou, Dai Zhaolong, chief engineer of the Estuarine and Coastal Research Institute of Zhejiang Province, introduced the tide of the Qiantang River that is famous both at home and abroad. Historically, , Especially the achievements of the encircling the river since the liberation, and put forward the idea of building a dam in the estuary. Li Guangbing introduced the research work of Zhejiang Estuarine and Coastal Research Institute, especially the tidal, wave and sediment of the Qiantang River Estuary , Salinity and model tests. Professor Su Jilan from the Second Institute of Oceanography of State Oceanic Administration introduced the density flow of the Yangtze Estuary. Dr. Simpson introduced the latest progress of heavy flow, clarified the phenomenon of heavy flow and its characteristics in the atmosphere, ocean, estuary and reservoir in nature, the simulation method of heavy flow in laboratory and its research results, and introduced the British plug Trent, Mersey, Kent and Paftt five tidal estuaries and the French Seine estuary tidal energy and its development, utilization and planning.
