在现代叙事成为世界电影创作的主要方式以来,导演卓·格赫也在此方面做着初步的尝试。而这种尝试对于蒙古族电影来说还属先例。对祖先、长者、大自然、生命、婚姻和家庭的敬畏,以及对宗教智慧和生活原理的巧妙结合,对经典样式的个人化诠释,都使卓·格赫的影片散发出作者电影的气质来。同时,对经典情境的重复、构图的特别意味的设置、借助于蒙古人象征性思维的电影化台词的安排、对家庭本质的现代意义挖掘,都成为他电影的鲜明的个人风格的来源。
