后冷战时期澳大利亚对华政策总体特征是:用足中国经济腾飞带来的经济利益,同时,关注两国在政体、价值观、意识形态上的差异;融合对华接触和地区接触战略,以多边组织制约中国行为;承认中国地位上升对地区战略格局的影响,但力阻中国取代美国,成为地区主导力量,美国因素时常影响澳对华决策和态度。
The overall characteristics of Australia’s China policy toward China in the post-Cold-War period are as follows: economic benefits brought about by the rapid economic growth in China; attention to the differences in political systems, values and ideologies between the two countries; the integration of the strategy of engagement with China and the regional engagement with multilateral organizations Restricting China’s behavior; acknowledging the impact of the rise of China’s status on the strategic layout of the region, it has hindered China from displacing the United States and has become the dominant force in the region. The United States often affects its decision-making and attitude towards Australia.
