A sensing skin based on electricity is proposed, which can be applied to the damage detection of concrete structure. The sensing skin consists of a thin layer of conductive copper paint that adheres to the concrete surface. Cracking of the concrete matrix causes the sensing skin to rupture and reduce the electrical conductivity of nearby sensing skin. Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) Technology can detect the drop in conductivity. The article summarizes the latest research results on polymer matrix and reinforced concrete. In addition, the latest results show that the resolution of reconstructed images can be further improved.
