Recently published in the British “Nature - Communications”, reported that the first Japanese scientists to use cryopreserved testicular tissue, to develop a live mouse offspring. This result shows that cryopreservation of testicular tissue may be a realistic and important measure to preserve fertility. According to the paper, infertility can be one of the adverse effects of certain cancer treatments. With the increase of children’s cancer cure rate, the preservation of fertility has become a problem that patients and their families are very concerned about. As semen cryopreservation is only applicable to post-pubertal patients, younger patients require other alternatives.
