为推动各部门机关党组织更加深入扎实地做好机关党的工作,鼓励广大党务工作者奋发进取,在深化改革中勇于探索的精神,中共中央国家机关工委3月中旬决定:对成绩显著的外交部等29个部门机关党委、财政部等20个部门机关纪委颁发1996—1997年单项工作奖。对马德森等14名表现突出的机关党委书记(副书记)、宋海亮等6名机关纪委书记(副书记)颁发1996—1997年工作奖,并对获奖单位和个人进行表彰;同时对兵器工业总公司等17个工作比较好的部门机关党委、纪委的单项工作给予表扬。
