艺术史需要不停地重写,展览也需要不停地回顾。通过重写艺术史和举办回顾展,可以使我们通过展览的方式对艺术史的发展进行重新梳理和反思,可以发现被淹没的或是更有价值的艺术史料和作品,从而重新书写艺术史。从某种意义上说,现当代艺术史是通过一个又一个展览来推动的,它区别于以前的又一个特征是引入了策展人制度,使得现当代艺术史变成了展览史。因此,通过回顾展的方式来重写中国现当代艺术史已经成为了一些策展人和美术批评家想做的工作。由马琳策划的“上海早期抽象:艺术史的再研究”展览
Art history needs to be constantly rewritten, the exhibition also need to keep on reviewing. By rewriting art history and holding retrospectives, we can reconstruct and reflect on the development of art history by means of exhibitions, and we can find the history of art again by discovering submerged or more valuable art historical materials and works. In a sense, modern and contemporary art history is promoted through exhibitions one by one, and another feature that distinguishes it from the past is the introduction of the system of curators, making the modern and contemporary art history into exhibition history.
