张骞通西域以后,西域有两座古城最有名,一个是天山以南的楼兰,一个是天山以北的疏勒。在西域以“疏勒”命名的地方共三处,一处是疏勒河,一处是疏勒国,一处是疏勒城。疏勒河是罗布泊(蒲昌海)水源。疏勒国在天山以南,是“西域三十六国”之一,今地临近喀什噶尔。疏勒城则位于天山北坡,扼守着丝绸之路的咽喉要道。东汉初期,受命出征西域的将军耿恭在部下与当地居民(车师后部)协助
After Zhang Qian passed the western region, there are two famous ancient cities in the western region, one is Loulan south of Tianshan Mountain and the other is Shule north of Tianshan Mountain.
