京都大学农学部家畜繁殖学教研室的入谷明教授和细井美彦特别研究员,研究成功一种新的,用特殊的玻璃管直接将精子注入卵子的体外受精法试用于家兔,已产出了小兔。今后可考虑应用于精子数量少而不能妊娠的精子缺乏症的治疗。体外受精一般是将由母体采取的卵子在“试管”内与精子混合进行培养、受精后再返回母体。而对于精子极少的精子缺乏症来说,受精率低于10%,所以急于寻求一种有效治疗方法。入谷教授等考虑如将精子直接注入卵子,受精率就可大为提高。为了证实该方法能否生产正常的孩子,研究人员选用了精子、卵子的大小、形状与人类相似
