京沪高速是我国第一条总长度超千公里的连贯型公路。继京津、沪宁高速公路先后通车后,河北、山东、江苏各省纷纷加大建设力度,经过3年努力,终于构筑成连接北京和上海的“黄金走廊”——总长达1278公里的京沪高速公路。2000年12月18日,京沪高速公路全线通车。 据交通部介绍,“十五”及未来20年中,我国将加快建设以国道主干线为框架的“五纵七横”高速公路“网络”。此中最亮丽的“一笔”,是京沪高速公路。它的开通为全国大规模建设高速公路奠定了框架基础。有关专家称,依托“五纵七横”这张“网”,可贯通首都及其它各直辖市、各省会、以及所有100万人口以上的特大城市和93%50万以上人口的大城市,它能承担全国公路交通量20%以上的任务。每年产生的经济效益可达2500亿元。 2000年12月18日、19日,人民日报记者彭俊、上海文汇报记者陆正明、乐迪分别乘车、驾车亲历了京沪公路全程,请看来自他们的精彩报道:
