东德是世界泳坛的强国之一,在各种国际游泳比赛中,多年来一直处于领先地位。东德游泳长兴不衰,一个十分重要的原因就是狠抓了中小学的游泳教学。早在一九五○年。民主德国建立不久,教育部就明文规定,游泳和德文、数学一样,是中小学的必修课。并且要求,在中小学阶段,必须教会学生掌握蛙泳、爬泳、跳水和潜泳的技巧。这一条款一直延续至今,使得游泳在中小学成了最普及的运动项目之一。
East Germany is one of the most powerful countries in the world of swimming and has been a leader in various international swimming competitions for many years.
