Objective To investigate the effect of hypertension in women with T2DM on new-onset cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events. Methods According to a prospective cohort study, 1477 female T2DM patients from 101,510 Kailuan Group participating in the medical examination were selected and followed up (48.05 ± 3.09) months. Results The age, BMI, SBP, DBP, pulse pressure, TG, SUA and hsC-RP in hypertensive group were significantly higher than those in normotensive group (P <0.05). The cumulative incidence of cardiovascular events, cerebral infarction, myocardial infarction and cerebral hemorrhage in hypertension group was higher than that in normal blood pressure group, and there was significant difference between the two groups in total cardiovascular events and cerebral infarction incidence (P <0.05). Hypertension group occurred total cardiovascular events, the risk of cerebral infarction were 2.66,2.96 times normal blood pressure group. Conclusions Female T2DM patients with hypertension may increase their risk of new cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events.
