Pertussis toxin on the immune system has a variety of roles, in addition to enhanced delayed-type hypersensitivity and increased antibody production adjuvant effect, but also significantly induced lymphocytosis, while reducing the weight of the thymus. The authors analyzed the CD_4CD_8 and Thy-1 phenotypes of thymocytes and peripheral blood T cells treated with pertussis toxin by flow cytometry. Four days after treated with different doses of pertussis toxin (0.25, 0.5 and 1.0 μg), the number of CD_4 ~ + and CD_8 ~ + double positive cells in the thymus decreased significantly while the double negative and single positive cell populations remained relatively constant . Analysis of the Thy-1 phenotype revealed that Thy-1
