Apo A-I是血清HDL的主要载脂蛋白成分,它对脂蛋白胆固醇代谢起重要作用。它可激活卵磷脂胆固醇酰基转移酶,体外细胞培养可以观察到Apo A-I能接纳细胞内胆固醇外流,临床流行病学调查Apo A-I/Apo B比值高的人群少见冠心病,并认为Apo A-I可作为预测冠心病指标之一。我们曾观察到Apo A-I可使LDL受体表达加强,以上促使我们有兴趣制备脂质体(Apo A-I:PC),并观察它对细胞内胆固醇外流及LDL受体表达作用。
