以甘南为代表的西部高海拔地区(平均海拔高度≥2 500 m)气候寒冷,年平均低温低,受干冷、干热以及冻融循环的作用,沥青路面在使用13年后往往会遭到严重损坏。该文对适用于该地区的橡胶沥青混合料AR-AC-13间断级配范围进行了优化设计,首先根据理论计算出具有代表性的AR-AC-13橡胶沥青间断级配,在此基础上以4.75mm筛孔的通过率为控制点设计了另外4种级配,然后进行了5种级配的马歇尔试验、冻融劈裂试验和低温弯曲试验分析,并对设计的5种级配进行了疲劳性能验证,最后根据试验结果及气候特点推荐提出了适用于高寒地区的AR-AC-13工程设计级配范围。
