In recent years, ferritic plus martensite dual phase steel with higher strength and better formability than ordinary low alloy high strength steel has been widely studied and applied. However, the current theories used to estimate the strength of duplex steels rely mostly on the strain data obtained by conventional metallographic methods or some assumptions about the strain distribution between the two phases, as it is difficult to accurately measure the strain of two phases during deformation. This makes the strength theory proposed by different authors using very different mechanics model, the calculated results and measured values are often large deviations. Therefore, using the accurate and reliable test method to reveal the micro-deformation behavior of two phases in dual-phase steel has become an urgent problem to be solved.
