Prostaglandin I_2 (PGI_2) and thromboxane A_2 (TXA_2) are important for the maintenance of intact internal environment of vascular function. Under physiological conditions, the levels of PGI_2 and TXA_2 in circulating blood are in a state of relative balance. When imbalanced, PGI_2 and TXA_2 easily lead to the occurrence of various diseases of heart and cerebrovascular. TXA_2 is an active substance with strong vasoconstriction and platelet aggregation. The half-life of TXA_2 is rapidly metabolized to inactive substance TXB_2 only for 30 seconds. Therefore, the level of TXB_2 in plasma is measured and dynamically observed.
